Let this femme tell you that no, het women are not necessarily femme. They CAN be femme, but most aren’t. Examples of het-femmes include Elle Woods from Legally Blonde, Wonder Woman (tho aren’t there questions about her sexuality?), and Wilomena (played by Vanessa Williams) on Ugly Betty. Key characteristics are a kick-ass-and-take-no-prisoners attitude coupled with a surprising revel in what old-school feminists would call “the bondage of feminine trappings.” As a friend likes to say, if you chase a straight woman, she’ll fall off her high-heels and cry; if you chase a femme, she’ll take off her high-heel and beat it through your forehead.

Not that I’d ever sully my Cole Haans with some idiot’s blood … ;~)

(Are het women femme by definition? I’ve always wondered.)

I’ve always gone from very long to very short in one jump. Off & on thru the years there’s been major changes in my hair style and/or color. Always a major change after a bad break up and always go for something that made me feel “hot”. Go for the real short. But I’d find someone with a license to carry those scissors first and just sit back and let ‘em got at it. It’ll be so cute on you, Mafia. Really!

Yay for breakup haircuts!!! (or growth, depending ROFL) It’s looking good so far, can’t wait to see it finished! Rach did the clipper and cut and she is HOTTTT!

I think you should chop it off! If for no other reason than because I really want short boyish hair myself but that look doesn’t work with my face, so I’ll need to live vicariously through someone else!

Change is good for the soul. Sassy is a great way to describe the new look so far. Go with it and see how you feel now. Besides, ir’s only hair. It does grow back.
