Favorite Things Monday: Maritza
October 15, 2007
As if I didn’t love Maritza enough already, look what she’s done now!
It’s Freddy the Bat!
Clearly her timing is impeccable. Now, if only I didn’t have a g-d-mn lawyer expecting a big fat retainer … sigh … and a shitload of people lining up to buy this little guy. Grrr. Argh. Want. Want.

Isn’t it amazing how the world seems to serve up what we’re already thinking/obsessing/wondering about? I know every time we thought of a name for the Fricklet, suddenly that name was everywhere. The connectedness of it all astounds me.

Awesome fangs! I think you need a physical representation of the spiritual bats leading you to new things …

hey, you can always just print out a picture and post it somewhere where you’ll see it every day! that’s a trick I use all the time with stuff I think I have to have. You get the part you probably only *really* need (the visual, the reminder), so it alleviates what I call the “gimmes” - that sense of deprivation is a real psychological trap when going without.

I’m not sure how I found your blog, but have checked in from time to time. I’ am going through a similar situation…my partner of 13 years (married for 3) and co-parent of our just turned 4 twin boys dropped the bomb on me in July that she wasn’t happy and wasn’t sure we could stay together. She then had a fling with a 21 year old. We’re still living together and she’s stopped this f**&^ing fling. We both see therapists and someone together. I don’t know what will happen and am scared shitless. I can so relate with what you’re going through. I admire your courage and strength. I am having a hard time putting one foot in front of the other a lot of the time. I can’t even knit!
stay strong…Sarah from mecca #!

If I knew how to crochet, I would make you an amigurumi bat. But I don’t, so you’ll just have to know that I am sending bat vibes your way.
See you on Saturday (hopefully we can find each other in the craziness that is Rhinebeck. I’ll probably be wearing a white and gold Steelers ball cap.)!

excellent bat - interesting/spooky interpretations of what it means in your life right now. Good luck with getting through & staying strong.
