Introducing Ms. 1890
November 7, 2006
To appease, here’s a photo of my new house, henceforth dubed Ms. 1890:

She’s a cutie, huh? However, as I mentioned before, there are many challenges inside this cute house. Within these walls are 1,000 reasons why the house was within our non-existent price range. And I’m knocking them down one by one.* As soon as I have a few hours of daylight at home (probably Friday), I’ll post before-and-after shots.
*If anyone has a can of Pine-Tree-B-Gone, please send it to me at P.O. Box Will-Climb-&-Chain-Saw Avenue, Massachusetts.

She looks lovely. Which sunny room will hold the stash? I’m looking for some dead-ash-tree-be-gone. I’ll keep an eye out for you, you keep an eye out for me and maybe we can arrange a trade.

Are you serious?! It’s so much larger and more beautiful than your remarks about nasty linoleum, etc. made me expect.
What a score!

Good Gosh … she’s BIIIIIGGGG! A house with “character” … that’s what I like. Hey, I’ve got one from the early 60’s. I’m talking 1962 … yellow appliances & pink bathtub, LOL. I do like some character. Or did someone call me a Character? LOve your new old house!!

Gorgeous! And you will love her even more after putting so much blood, sweat, and tears into her. At least, that’s what I recommend you tell yourself during your next marathon wallpaper-stripping session.
Seriously, though, she’s perfect.
