Happy Birthday to the Mafia

November 16, 2005

Now that it’s long past my bedtime, it’s also officially my birthday.

I’m 31.

I’m a Scorpio. I bet you’re not surprised.

I’m fine with my age, it’s my ass that could use some youthful vigor.

I’m working toward my goals, but damn if that 20 year old version of myself thought I’d be a lot closer to them. Silly young girl.

I’m tackling the big issues and trying to ignore the small ones.

I’m a Mom. Holy shit, I’m a Mom (?!).

I’m no longer a ‘player,’ but I love watching hot girls on TV act like sluts and goddesses.

I embrace my craftiness and it’s ‘trollishness’, and I’m glad that I finally accepted creativity as a major part of my life, in spite of what others may think/say.

I love chocolate, and my ass needs to stop complaining about youthful vigor because I’m not giving up chocolate.

I have some lovely photos of my 20 year old ass to prove that it was once youthful. I pledge to gaze at those photos as I grow older [while ingesting large quantities of chocolate].

The 20s were for recreational drugs and attempts at utopia. The 30s are for chocolate and snuggles from a Little Man. The 40s … well, isn’t that a woman’s sexual peak?

Do you think about aging and how it’s changed you?

Happy birthday indeed, old lady! And to think I knew you when you were a mere babe of 22…

Happy birthday! I’ve been thinking about it quite a bit as my 31st birthday swiftly approaches. I don’t regret my 20s but I don’t miss them either.

i am so in love with shane. she can break my heart or cut my hair anytime…

severe props for the innocuous knitpicks linkage.

knock yourself out with a hot chocolate from l.a. burdick’s in harvard square sometime. that will definitely satisfy…

    happy birthday. you’re prime!

What your ass lacks in youthful vigor, it makes up for in zebra stripes. :)

Happy Birthday to my fellow crafty cube-dweller.

Happy Birthday! And isn’t it weird to know you’re aging/changing while it’s happening?

Happy birthday! Having recently turned 29, I also think a lot about these sorts of things. Things are really different than how I thought they’d be when I entered my 20s. Life is full of curve balls.

happy birthday, and your ass is only as old as it feels (asses are pretty much eternally soft and curvy so i find this the most comforting method)

Happy Birthday! Men may view aging differently than women, I don’t know. However, I am enjoying it. I feel that as I age I realize what really is important in life and have learned how to have even more fun than I did in my 20’s. 31 in Feb. and counting.
    Best wishes…

Happy (belated) birthday to you! You and my grandfather share a birthday. :)

My 30’s have been pretty darn good so far, in fact, better than my 20’s, so enjoy! And nothing like a Little Man to keep you young.

    Mmmmmm…chocolate!

Happy birthday! Never give up chocolate. Chocolate is my reason for living.

I’m 20 and so far my 20s have not exactly worked out how I hoped or planned, so now I have very high hopes for my 30s!

First, I just have to survive being 29.

    Happy birthday.
